  1. Our church bylaws allow up to 15 deacons in office, therefore, taking into account the number of expiring terms of office in 2026, up to eight (8) deacons from CSC, ESC and MSC may be elected this year. Their term of office shall be from 2026 to 2030. The following are the names of the deacons currently serving: 跟據會章，執事總人數為 15名。今年可從粵語堂、英語堂及國語堂被選立的執事人數最高為八 (8) 名。任期由2026至2030年。以下是教會的現任執事：

    1. Deacons whose terms of office continue to May of 2028. Please do not nominate these current deacons: Koon Hung Leung and Irene Loy
      任期於2028年五月內屆滿的執事。請不要提名這些現任執事：梁冠雄及高慧玲。

    2. Deacons whose terms expire in May of 2026. These current deacons are eligible for nomination and re-election: Gary Cao, Vincent Choi, Daniel Lau, Lawrence Leung, Douglas Mah and Fred Yeung
      任期於2026年五月內屆滿之執事。這些現任執事可以被提名和連任：曹明旭、蔡嘉偉、劉偉成、梁浩民、馬德基及楊啟業。


  2. The Role of Deacon at NYCBC:  A deacon at NYCBC has the role of providing spiritual and administrative leadership.  This means assisting the pastor(s) in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation, and working with pastors to provide leadership in setting church direction and policymaking. As a member of the Board of Deacons, this also means legal standing and responsibilities equivalent to those of a company director.
    執事在北約華人浸信會的角色：包括屬靈及行政上的職責。前者需協助牧者處理一切對會眾靈命有益的事，並與牧者同工，帶領和訂定教會方向及政策等事宜。後者作為執事會的成員，有等同公司董事的法律地位及責任。

  3. Basic Qualifications of Candidates:
    候選人的基本資格：

    1. Active and faithful member of the church.
      敬虔而又積極參與教會生活與事奉之會友。

    2. Spiritually mature.
      有成熟之靈命。

    3. Strong Biblical foundation, capable of applying Biblical principles, and faithful in practicing and communicating Biblical truth.
      有穩固的聖經基礎，善於應用聖經原則，忠心遵行並向人傳遞聖經真理。

    4. Demonstrated leadership ability.
      有領導能力。

    5. If married, builder of a Christian home; if single, purity in dealing with the opposite sex and has good relationship with family members.
      已婚者應是基督化家庭的建立者。未婚者應能以慎重之態度與異性相交，並與家人有良好關係。

    6. Of good Christian character and reputable both inside and outside of the church (see Acts 6:3 & 1 Tim.3: 8-13).
      具有良好的信徒品格，在教會內外均有好名聲。 (請參閱使徒行傳 6:3 及提摩太前書 3:8-13)


  4. The following procedure will be used in the election of deacons. For other details, please refer to paragraph 18.01 to 18.05 of the Church’s By-law - Election and Term of Board of Deacons.
    選立執事將依照下列程序。其它詳細資料，可參閱教會會章第十八段 (18.01-18.05)：

    1. Nomination of a candidate shall be made to the Deacon Election Coordination Team in writing, co-signed by five (5) members and with the consent of the candidate.  The number of candidates to be nominated by any one active member shall not exceed the maximum number of deacons to be elected, i.e. eight (8) persons for said term.
      先徵求候選人同意，然後由五位會友聯合簽署提名表格，遞交執事選舉委員會。每位會友可提名多位候選人，但不得超過將被選立執事的最高人數，合共八 (8) 名。

    2. Each nominee will receive an assessment of their Christian beliefs and calling to serve as a deacon.
      每位被提名者將接受信仰及作執事召命的評估。

    3. The names of the nominees shall be published to the congregation for their opinions on the suitability of the nominees to stand, as candidates, based on their moral, doctrinal and character integrity, and also leadership ability.
      被提名者的名字將會向會眾公佈，讓會眾就被提名者的道德，教義，品格及領導能力提供意見，是否適合作為執事的候選人。

    4. The Coordination Team shall review all opinions and views expressed by the congregation on the nominees.
      執事選舉委員會將考慮會眾對被提名者的所有意見。

    5. Successful candidates shall be presented at the Annual Business Meeting of Members for approval by 2/3 votes cast.
      所有被確認之候選人，須在年會中獲得三份二之票數通過方可入選。


  5. Nominations will be accepted from December 14 to 28, 2025.  For adequate time to administer the election of deacons, all dates and deadlines will be strictly adhered to by the Coordination Team.  There are two available nomination formats:
    接受提名的日期為2025年12月14日至28日。請依照以上期限提名，好讓選立工作能順利進行。有兩種提名方式可供選用：

    1. Paper nomination: Please obtain blank nomination forms from the NYCBC Church Office. Please submit completed nomination forms by depositing in the box marked Deacon Election Nomination Forms at the NYCBC Church Office, 685 Sheppard Ave. E., 2nd floor.
      書面提名：請到教會辦公室索取提名表格。請將填妥的提名表格投入685 Sheppard Ave. E. 二樓教會辦公室的「選立執事提名表」箱內。

    2. Online nomination: Please go to church’s website at nycbc.ca and follow the instructions there.
      網上提名：請到教會綱址nycbc.ca，並依照指引。
